Scania closes the factory in Slupsk. Redundancies will affect several hundred people

Scania will lay off 847 people working at its factory in Slupsk. The Swedish company has decided to close the plant, which produces bus bodies.

The company said the decision was motivated by negative global market developments in the bus segment.

The factory is scheduled to close in the first quarter of 2024 and the company authorities have indicated that they are starting talks with the trade unions.

Scania is another automotive company that has recently announced mass redundancies. This shows that the situation in the industry is extremely difficult.
